Photography has always had an important role in our society.
It is a way of freezing and recording moments and exact contexts, that no other type
of media can achieve. In an era where billions of random and disposable images
are produced every day, the major goal of this project was to reinterpret the basic
concept of photography.

By over printing the same iconic photography with a big amount of zoom in it, it was
possible to get to the image’s DNA, changing the way the image is usually seen and lead
to new interpretations of such a recognisable picture. With multiple copies of the same image,
different shapes and lines created patterns, that were then used to compose different images
by deconstructing the original and creating new perceptions.

The development of this artist book was built in a really experimental way so that the main
focus would always be the images themselves. To reinforce this idea, the publication’s aim
was to keep it as simple as possible, giving images a big scale and mainly focusing on the
concept. Even though the images were organised in a box with a certain order according
to the author’s criteria, the reader has the opportunity to re-order them and build a new object.

The purpose of this book was to emphasize the relevance that photography deserves
and re-affirm the power that images may transmit.
